New Helmet

What do you think? Questions? Comments? (Would YOU wear it?) (Should I put the design on the other side of the helmet as well?)

I think I'll wear it to Spring War. I'll bring my old cap too, though.

[edit: pardon the picture layout/quality. I was in a hurry and I wanted to have fun]

[edit: and in case I make more, what changes would you suggest in the shape / style / etc of it all?]

AWESOME. No question I would wear that it's SWEET. However yes you should put the design on both sides.

Great work, I'm impressed.

Looks awesome. Reminds me of that zelda helmet posted on the boards a while back, but better because of the behind-the-head coverage. I like how the pattern is only on one side.

Also, damnit, everyone's getting helmets, who am I gonna shoot in the face.

I really like the tooling, why not bust it out all over the helmet? I like the design, but it looks kinda bulgy on top. I've never made one, so I'm sure as hell not gunna try to critique it, when I can't make one myself.

Overall, it looks good, something different and original, keep up the good work!

The tooling (ha!) is actually just... my leather dye doesn't go deep, so I used a pencil's eraser to "erase" the dye from it.

I only did one side, because that's as much as I could do before my hand started hurting, and ... now I'm just curious if people think I should finish it or not.

It does look somewhat bulgy, but it fits very nicely to my head ALMOST everywhere. The upper forehead bulges a little.... I shaped it all right to my own head (though I originally got the facial pattern from a metal helm (non-bele legal) that I have near me as I type this.

maybe you should try a more simple but similar design on the other side

This is not a good picture of it, but i made the helmet in this picture. Inspired by the helmet of Maximus in the film Gladiator.

This helm took me about 15 hours total from design to final product. Either way it sucked, but was worth the satisfation of being able to make it, and the fact that i got paid helped also.
