well, I guess if I'm asking, then I must be ignorant anyway
I was wondering what the stipulations were regarding facial masks or leather helmet-type adornments. Are they strictly forbidden or simply really hard to pull off?

Any help would be appreciated ^-^

Fully enclosed metal helms are the only things that aren't allowed. You can have any kind of leather mask or helmet you want, as long as it falls under regular armor guidelines. You don't see many of them because they're hard to make, hot to wear, and impede your vision.

Sweet. and I don't mind the hot part. I wore heavy armor (including a woolen tunic, a padded gambison, a plated kidney belt, and 50 lbs of chain) at Arm IV...I believe. It was my first event, so much fun

the "Book of War" is your friend, if you already looked there then kudos and disregard this statement.

a good example of whats allowed you can find in this forum, like the spangle helms or the Uruk-Hai masks, just browse for a bit.

I had checked it, but it didn't mention much regarding helms and masks and the like. I will definitely browse the forums, though and I love the Uruk-Hai masks

also, I guess my next course of action would be to find a place to buy leather close to BG. Only place I know is Hobby Lobby, but it's not thick enough for armor...just for decoration or outfit pieces.
