Here's my armor advce:
Make good, working patterns out of posterboard. You can fold duct tape in half longways and make strap material. Use those brass brads they use on paper and a paper punch to rivet it all together. If you make a peice of armor this way and it works, it will work when you make it out of leather. Never make anything without trying it out in posterboard.
Make your ravager armor hung on straps, not hard rveted together. Everything except maybe the lower torso. I would even strap this. Strap suspension will make it flexible and breathable(cooler). It also makes it easy to take apart if you have to fix something.
Don't be afraid of etra holes. Everybody mounts **** in the wrong place. Unless you are a pro armorer and are selling something, you can have a couple extra holes in your armor. It's better to have it fit right and wor better. No one will notice your extra holes. If they are way visible, put a braid of leather or something decorative through them. It'll look like you meant to do it.
Store it in the shape you want to be be. If you store it in a bag under some other ****, it'll get all misshapen and not feel right to wear. If you store it hanging up and filled with some stuff that simulates the way it sits on your *. It will always fit right and eventually it will hold this shape even without hardening.
I got's no pic's for you just now, but it sound like you're doin fine.
Just try to make it look COOL.
