Layered Leather

Hey has anyone try laying soft leather togather to get the thickness to pass. And if so can you tell me how it worked out. I have been wanting to try it but, i want to find out if any one has done it. Thanks

I believe that Snotbelly has some armor like that. If I remember correctly its soft 6 oz doubled over to pass.

It looks amazing, if that's what it is.

Snotty's armor is an example of armor being garb. Its just that amazing.

Make it two layers, max, and make 'em heavy. Two layers of 7-9 oz should be plenty.

And yeah, Snotty's armor is sicktacular.

i made some bracers out of doubled 7oz, i think it was boot leather or something. they worked but they would slide down my my arm and bunch up around my wrist... idk if that helps but yeah

Look at my picture, both the lamelar chest and the gauntlets are made of doubled 7oz leather. The gauntlets are DAPed together so they look like one thick layer, the lamelar is just a tight pattern so it always overlaps.

The fact it's 2 layers instead of 1 doesn't matter nearly as much as the kind of leather you use. If you use leather that flops around too much you will feel every blow through it but people will still hit you harder because they see armour. My gauntlets are made from upholstery leather, that was a mistake. The lamelar is mostly vegetable tanned and it works well, but at the waist I used the upholstery leather again so that the warskirt moves with my legs.
