New Warskirt

Here is my new warskirt I made this week. It is a basket weave of 1' strips of leather. The vertical strips are black and the horizontal strips are green. I like the way it came out. THe coverage in the front is a little lacking so I will add a few more stips of leather to cover the outer parts of front opening.

I like the colors and the buckle. Very stylish.

Question for experienced weapons checkers: (Knowing that pictures aren't completely representative of the actual product) If this war skirt was the only armor worn, would this pattern satisfy these rules in the Book of War?

Book of War wrote:3.3.3. Armor must be of a size to cover a significant portion (approximately one-third) of a Target Area. Armor extending continuously from another Target Area is not required to significantly cover neighboring Target Areas to count as Armor.
(emphasis mine)

Book of War wrote:3.1.1. Body – Area bounded by the base of neck (inclusive), shoulder-arm joint (inclusive), hip-leg socket (inclusive), groin, and buttocks (inclusive).

Book of War wrote:3.1.3. Leg(s) – Area bounded by the ankle (inclusive) and hip-leg socket (exclusive).

I ask because from the looks of it, the two target areas covered include the body and the legs. On the body the buttocks, the hip-leg sockets and a strip around the abdomen and back are covered, but they definitely seem less than 1/3 of the defined target area. On the legs, it really only looks like the sides are covered from the hip socket to above the knees, and that also doesn't seem like 1/3 of that separate defined target area.

Can armor not sufficiently cover one or multiple target areas, but still be counted because of a percentage of total body coverage?

I like it, Its got an overall great look. Only thing i would do to it myself is finish the edges a bit more. Maybe wrap them in some suede or something.

Is all the leather armor grade? because if not you have huge gaps their which technically are cheesing the rules. If they are then awesome you went above and beyond. That would be only worry as to what Tiberius said.

Just only call armor on if it hits armor. If it slams into the armor, move it and your thigh still get raped (deep * wrap) you still **** die though.

Yeah it's all armor grade and for the question about the coverage I will be wearing it with greaves and I hope to make a chest piece soon. It is also primarily intended as an upper thigh armor not really the body as much, but in the future I want to build out from it and make a kidney "oval" with a cool design. Anyone that wants to use the design can. It's a very simple basket weave. Thanks for all the compliments.

It needs to cover 1/3rd of at least one target area. I think it absolutely covers 1/3rd of a leg. No, it doesn't cover a sufficient portion of the body, but that's ok because it's mostly leg armor and sort 'spills over'. I'd pass it no questions asked.

I like it man, but your whole crotch area is exposed.
This seems weird to me. You wear armor, but you leave it off the one place you really DON'T want to be hit, or stabbed.
Cover your nuts man. Make one more big pannel and atach it acroos the front. Make the one end detachable in some way so you can take it off.
Seriously good work, but seriously vulnerable to one handed stabbs to the sack.

You'd be allowed to call 'body' on * shots because it 'continues over' from the legs, so it doesn't need to meet significant coverage. Same reason you can call body on sleeves with pauldrons.

Otherwise, great work man. Looks good.

Thanks Forbeard. Do you have any idea of how to make the front panel without it hindering the buckle? That was the major reason i Didn't put one there to begin with, and I can't wrap my head around the concept.

Make the front flap hang down a bit from the belt, attaching it only at both ends. On the buckle end just make loop that the buckle fits through. If you wad extra securit on that end you could attach a snap or something to hold it in place once it's on. I'd draw you a picture but I'm short on time and it would be a paint POS.

Yup.
What Rowan says.
I would suspen the front pannel from straps. Rivet the one on the buckle side and make the other side a belt loop
I just made a war skirt for me yesterdayand I just made it barely fit over my *. ThenI belt it tight to keep it from sliding down.
We'll see how it works.
