I'm not seeing spikes on the waist armor. If they're in the same plane as the rest of the armor (like the ones hanging down) then I believe they're legit since they're more like a war skirt. Just keep them un-sharp. For the other projections that come up off of the plane of the armor surface, those are required to be no more than 1/2" in height.

They should be fine, asumming they're leather. If done in metal, then you have to deal with the appropriate rule. I don't see that armor being a problem. If you get the shapes, it would look great too.

Yea, if done in leather, they would be completely legal...Claws like that aren't hard to make. I have four of them on my new helmet im putting together. It's just rolled leather, a little tooling, and a very nice paint job.

The Cod Piece would be a bit more difficult, but not impossible. Your talking about some serious leather forming, so i would probably get a 10oz hide or thinner. Otherwise your leather will be so stiff even after soaking that your not going to be able to form it easily.

However, if your new to working with leather...i would try for something a little less ambitious.

While I'm totally liking the creativity in the leatherworking craft, I'm a little bit bemused in the notion this is the second post I've seen recently that has a codpiece with teeth, and am starting to wonder if there's any Freudian implications with that... (there's a female term that ends with dentata, I won't trip the censors on that but you get the gist)
