Trasitional crusader helm

Dig it.I used the webcam on my computer to take these. My real **** camera died.




I wouldn't have made a helm like this is some one hadn't asked me for it. It was fun to make.
The breath holes are little fleurd'leis(sp). I feel clever about them.

What does the phrase on the back of the helm mean? Did you stitch that in? What the eyelet pieces are for, hanging from the back?

Again, looks good enough to lay siege to Jerusalem all over again!

Taking out my bias...I don't really like those style of helms in the first place...that looks great! I agree that the breathing holes look nice. Is the cross also armor-grade leather, or another material. It looks like it has a different texture, but it may be distortion from the camera.

I don't know what it's upposed to say. The guy sent me exactly what he wanted on it.
I burned the letters in deep with and then painted inside them. It looks like engraving in black steel.
The eyelets are for attching maiil. The guy's got some.
The cross is painted leather, but it's the same as the rest. I painted it reallt thick so's it would have a nice shine.
These pictures suck. You can't see the point on the top.
