You were of no help. I had initially asked if it were ok to wear this helmet without the spikes. And also,I had asked if leather spikes were ok to wear instead. So.. You bombarded a post without any forms of advice or question answering capability. Your trolling has failed.

Ha, yeah whatever man sorry for giving you such a prompt response.
You're right maybe I should have done what others may have done and told you, "Oh you must be a n00b * for not reading the rules. Because it clearly says under the armor checking rules in section 3.4. that armor cannot protrude more more than 1/2 an inch from the surface (which the majority of that helmet appears to fail)."
But instead of saying that I suggested the two designs I believed may pass, as long as they are thick enough (and if you decide to read the rules it has to be 3/16 inch thick).
Hope this helps and was less troll enough for you.

I'll say it.
That helmet fails fails fails.
1) it is too thin. This could be remedied, but why?
2)it has too mony spikes that are too long. This rule is important but is sometimes fudged for stuff that, while technically illegal, is not really that dangerous.
3) No, you can't change them for leather. Leather 2" spikes are still longer than 1/2" and will STILL POKE OUT YOUR **** EYE! The leather horn/things all over this make it fail just as much as the metal spikes.
4)That helmet is disgustingly ugly. It looks like some kind of LotR/biker/bondage */slipknot * mask. Why on earth would you wear that unless you were trolling for bondfag *?
5) it has big holes in it arrows could go through.
7)striped down to just the crown it looks like something a Disney evil queen character would wear. Are you changing your name to Malificent?
Should I keep going? This response was really only becuase you didn't like the short, polite one you got first.

Add a tentacle beard and you are Chthulu, The Punk Rock Years.
Even as garb, because it fails at being armor, it is still a danger to everyone including self.
Not worth the purchase, unless you are giving that to a Larper you love for Christmas.

Looks like Cthulhu and Pinhead porked and made... this...

Look man, ask some of the more experienced Belegrim to make armor for you if you're not going to do it yourself... Elads is eye candy (well... some of it, definitely not this), and overpriced. For 3-500 bucks you can get a good badass and LEGAL kit and... to be frank I'd personally rather support someone in THIS community.

Sorry that was a friend that replied to him. Well just trying to find out what is illegal and not because I have done this for years but never with armor and my original unit was disbanded a long time ago. Since the last event I went to I figured I need some armor but not quite sure on all the rules. Yeah I read the rules on the main page and it didn't say much. So if you guys know of any good sites or anything for just a helmet that would be legal just let me know. Thanks

For a legal helmet of just about ANY design that you want, I'd talk to Forkbeard. He does amazing work in leather that's legal for Belegarth/Dag/etc.
