guages of steel

whish size of chainmail is thicker 20 gauge or 16 gauge? I know this may be silly but ive got it in my head that the smaller the gauge number is the thicker itis.

think of it this way, the larger the number the more times its been drawn through a guage, thinning it out.

the smaller the number the less times its been drawn through, thusly thicker guage

16 ga is thicker than 20 ga

Like earrings - those folks who walk around with giant holes in their lobes are probably wearing "00" gauge earrings. The smaller the number, the thicker the metal.

Ouch, now I feel stupid. I'm a fairly big hunter w/ shotguns, and even I forgot what the term gauge meant. I was freaking out because my 16 gauge chain didn't fit the requirements... Then I went out trap shooting and remembered, 10 gauge = Bigger, 20 gauge = smaller... Bore width and chain thickness = same type of scale... RIGHT....

Look at post dates in the future, bro. This thread was over a year old. Uness you have something groundbreaking to add to the conversation, leave the dead to rest in their graves.

Whoops, sorry... I saw February 17th and assumed today's date. I apologize.
