motocross armor

Postby Thraxion » Fri Apr 29, 2011 2:01 pm

So i have been trying to make a set of torso armor that moves nicely for a while now and cant seem to get it right. I was sparing with a couple friends the other day wearing my motocross armor and it moved perfectly.

My question is. If i comletly covered it with 3/16 leather over it so that none of the plastic was showing and even put cloth on the inside to completly cover it would this be ok for use.

I'd ask for help from your unit.

I would think, so long as it is covered with legal thickness leather, it would be passing. A better idea would be to recreate the motocross armor from entirely legal materials. That'd save some bulk and weight.

And you have Forkbeard in your unit. He's some kind of leather wizard or something.

I thought this was a troll at first, lol.

Ask your unit leader, in person, please.

All joking aside, you're linked to arguably the best leatherworker in the game. I would use that if I were you. I'm paying to have an entire head to toe kit made by him and shipped all the way to FL.

I'm sure he can make something that moves just as well and does not look like you slapped leather on plastic/kevlar/whatever else...

Exactly what I was thinking.

Thraxion, If you get some flak after this for posting about Motocross armor, that is because there has been far too many n00b and troll posts made about the stuff on these boards in the last year or so. So much in fact, that it has turned into a meme of sorts within the online Belegarth community.

Now I'm just waiting for Morggard Darkspawn to come in here and start trolling and quipping.

I just "wear" it so "I" don't get injured before "my" kumite martial arts master tournament.
I'm "not" a * bro.

Seriously though.
"I" only RP a NAMBLA Slaanesh Slave "Boy" in GM where "it" belongs.
This "is" not my style.

We can make pretty much an exact copy of your plastic with leather. I'll guide you through it, or do it for you, whichever.
