Reverend's Armor Log

Postby Reverend » Wed May 04, 2011 10:44 am

So, I'm not great at the whole armor-making stuff... yet.

Here's a couple of projects that I've completed.

First project since Chaos 13.
Anastasia had some greaves that were burnt in the oven. Some really large, hideous burn marks. I spruced it up and made it all look good. I don't have any photos of the process, just the completed version.

Next was kidney belt as a gift for T-Bird of Clan Blackwolfe.

Color of his armor, I need to match it.

9 coats of the the stupid eco-friendly dye just doesn't do the trick.
Image

I mixed my own dye, using black, some of the *, and some acrylic paint.

The toothy vag... :P

A brig war skirt for Talon Blackwolfe.

I started off with just an idea, some scraps kicking around and a belt. I think it turned out pretty good.

Start of the side-panels. I used a wood-burner to etch in the designs. I'm not a fan of it, as it made the leather a bit brittle where it was seared. (I now have a swivel knife, so I'm making progress)

Side-panel piece.

Both side-panels are basically done.

No pictures of the making of the brig, as it's just boring, boring, boring.
Here's the completed front.

Completed back (note, the riveted panels of brig are also riveted to the belt. This **** isn't moving)
Image

Completed side. I'm happy with the way that this turned out.

Accents and those rivets may be a bit of extra work, but they make all the difference from being meh to being awesome. Great job!

Matches all My other armor too. So bonus.

Thanks Ana, for anyone interested, that skirt is exactly 5 lbs. The leather pieces in the brig are armor thickness held in place by those rivets.
It moves well and hasn't tripped Me up at all.

My thanks again to Reverend and Bacchus.
