Can i get an estimate?

Postby Blitz. » Sun May 22, 2011 10:39 pm

The bracers greaves mask and shoulder armor are what im looking at, and before you flame, the reason im getting this armor is for a Haunted house i work at, and my character is a ninja(Long story about it) and im trying to spice it up with armor, but if im going to get some armor, why shouldnt i make it belegarth legal?

Im looking for just Regular Bracers and Greaves. No designs on em. Just Plain Bracers & greaves. The Mask I like how it is, but the slits of course bigger for breathing. and the shoulders i was thinking would be compostite armor, unless it would look better just as flat leather. Also instead of Sliver siding i would like Red, So it would fit better with my unit colors when im not using them during the halloween season.

Thanks!

Sorry i guess i didnt make this stick out enough; the bracers i want NO design on them; and the greaves would we regular greaves; again no design. The mask i really like but i'd like slits ofr breathing so i dont die of heat. The shoulders im not sure if compsite or stright up leather would we best. Also in the picture the outline on the armor is sliver; i'd like it red.

Sorry for not being clear my bad :-/

You said 200 for how it looked in the picture; well with the designs off the greaves and bracers would it lower any??

Not really. I was going to say around $200 also.
The cheapest greaves I could make you would be $60, and only if you buy aal the rest of this stuff at the same time.
About 30 for bracers. Maybe 40.
If you want the shoulders with straps to hold them onto you, it's $100.
The mask would be $40.
That's $210.
It also paying me about $8 an hour. Is you armor worth minimum wage?

Remember if the shoulders were all you had, it wouldn't count as armor on your body unless it was attached to another piece of arm armor I think.

3.3.3. Armor must be of a size to cover a significant portion (approximately one-third) of a Target Area. Armor extending continuously from another Target Area is not required to significantly cover neighboring Target Areas to count as Armor.

No'vak is referring to this portion of the rules:
3.3.3. Armor must be of a size to cover a significant portion (approximately one-third) of a Target Area. Armor extending continuously from another Target Area is not required to significantly cover neighboring Target Areas to count as Armor.

However, I believe if you make the pauldron cover slightly more than the arm/shoulder joint, then combined with the bracers, it should pass the 30% of target area (arm) rule and benefit from the "armor extending continuously from another target area" rule to allow protection of the shoulders covered.

That is acutaly up in the air. Most murder masks are less that 25% area coverage, which means that although they are accepted as armor becuase cool people wear them, they are not without some kind of additional head armor.

Like I said, it probly will pass.
To make it really legal I would wear a helmet with it. I'd also not dress like a video game ninja.
Try looking into actual dark age costumes. Garb, then armor, that is all themed to go together.
Everybody either wants to be a **** ninja or some other cartoon *. What the **** happened to VIKINGS and ****? And making a complete kit of everything you would wear as the person your trying to be?
To make it legal I would wear something else.

The reason i choose this picture is because it shows what my costume would look like for the Halloween season, and if i am going to spend money on something i figured i might as well make it useable throughout the year. I just bracers and greaves black with red trim, and the murdermask Black.
But the murdermask would probably pass. Which is good.
