Here is the link to the Elbow Pattern Derian had posted in the other thread

I went through shopped the pic down some and then cleaned it up a bit and redid the lines so they were a bit darker.

this is a link to my Godaddy online file folder for download

Nice, though it's hardly fair to call it my pattern. I was inspired by (stole it from) someone else.

That said, if you're interested in doing the same to the rest of the pieces, let me know and I can try to get pictures for those too.

Done and Done sir, I'd love to do it.

I make patterns all the effing time for stuff I make..and if I dont have to re-invent the wheel all the time I'd much rather do that.

Moreover, I know folks recomend Armorarchive but in truth what we do is vastly different in motion and result then the SCA type figting. I cant recall the last time I saw a Heavy in the SCA shield bash some to the ground and mount them and beat them with their stick.

If you stop right there, last regional practice. Then, the practice before, then the practice before.

Maybe the East Kingdom just does things differently...

On a more practical note, most of those patterns are designed for plate, which dishes significantly better than leather.

It's possible to adapt them to leather, but the patterns will require some modification.

this is from 10-12oz leather

photos are weird looking..I was using instagram...to test it..I'll take some other pics from my phone later after the leather had dried. (pic below the leather is still pretty wet)

I've got chicago screws in place currently to see if it was going to work in leather. I'm letting it sit over night to dry, I've got it wedged against a few things so I can mold it a bit better as it dries.

---------
Still wet, took the image from above, put it on a word doc, stretched the size out as far as a normal word doc goes. made a cardboard mock up, seemed to fit right. improvised the lames.

the backside, ignore the various lines and stuff the leather was from my scrap leather pile.

The cop itself looks good. The articulating lames will move better if they're shaped like a semi-circle. The half facing away from the inside of the cop is spot on, but the inside should be circular to prevent corners from dragging as they pivot.

1) So, change the lames to a semi cirlce..gotcha
2) the lames should have the circular part on the inside

right?

This is what the articulation looks like. Here's a good picture of the piece itself (attached to the bracer):

This picture kind of shows how it's attached to the cop from the inside (the bracer is on the right, the rearbrace is on the left):

Wot he said...plus if it's a historical design to begin with (and some SCA armour is) it is already optimized for wrasslin'.
