hello, so i have recently decided to join up with Belegarth and i want to be legit with my garb in case i wind up at an event.
my question is if i have garb and leather shoulder and bracers that don't meet the 3/16 thickness requirements will that mean i would have to take those off for an event?

The rule actually requires only a thickness of 3/16" (aka 12 oz.) leather that can be comprised of no more than two layers.
If the leather isn't legal, then you should not wear it on the field to avoid any confusion as to whether it's actually armor or not. However, wearing it during non-fighting times is entirely your prerogative.
