Is the foam link for sword form or shield foam? (Punch shield, that is)

I am a new fighter from Canada I have just finished making my first weapons (4 blue swords and a 2 spears), I had a lot of grief finding materials, until a Canadian Tire moved in to town.

Canadian people! you can get PVC 1/2"-1", M3 Spray glue, contact cement, rope, duct tape, hockey tape, and *foam there.

*I haven't found blue camp pad there yet.

you can use it for both i think, though i have never made a punch shield

I know this would be hard espcially people picking up broken spears and things like that. I also know it would be hard to be clear on a red shot because its easier to move a spear then a red.
