So I've done this before: viewtopic.php?f=128&t=22135

And I'm doing it again. I'm going for a few things:
* simple
* good looking (eye catching and keeping)
* functional
* intriguing

It doesn't list practices, but that's on purpose... they can be hand written.

What else might help improve this?

Definitely needs a little more information.

Any chance of a generic one so we can either write in or edit in our own info?

I left a lot of information out because I don't think fliers will be the main (or best) way of conveying that information. I want people to get curious and either come to our message boards (the link written there) or to practice (which will be sharpied on).

Is there more information that you think IS crucial to pique someone's interest?

Yes, I can make a generic version of this available. The payment for doing so is that I first want to get as much input as possible so as to make this a great flier. Then I link a generic hi-def version for download.

Text needs a bit more definition, ether a thicker text (or bold) or drop shadow should do it. Looks good.

Very good plan, get your target interested, that they want to get more info, then give it to 'em in a more optimum situation and format (like a web page).

New update:

Are these tabs legible? Does the flier lose much from the compression to make room for them?

Hmmm... I think they are legible, I like the original better but the tabs make sense.

This I also like, good thinking Sa.

Okay, I'm pretty happy with it. Thanks for the input! If I get a chance, I'll go back and make the font a little darker.

For now, though, here's a blank template. It should be 8.5 x 11 inches. Let me know if you have other requests..

if you want to pique interest, tell them "free food"
then when they show up...tell them you ran out
then they'll be so angry, they'll just have to pick up a sword and strike something

Punch and Pie.

Seriously though, It's a good looking poster. I would move the "Foam Padded weapons" line above "Full Contact" and then put both of those lines at the bottom. Also, maybe just "Padded Weapons instead of Foam."

You might not want to have the fancy font for "Belegarth" on the tabs.

I'll tell you the same thing that I tell the Amt group. "Free loaner weapons on first visit." Mundanes assume that things cost money, and they'll think they are getting over on the first visit. When they fall in love with hitting people with sticks, they'll be much happier to know it's all absolutely free. You need that worm, though.

Also, someone bite the * bullet and take phone calls. Put someone's phone number on there, and expect 2-3 calls weekly at best.

Also, how's your realm doing? Bangor might come to visit now that he'll have money.

I agree, a phone number is actually very important. Someone might be soooo interested that they are on their way to your practice but can't find it, and a quick call can fix that. It's also nice to talk to a human being over the phone to get questions answered quickly. You then have the chance to butter them up even more.

My .02 on it.

Your fliers are awesome! Top notch!

Good advice Bangor and Jeg, I will try and incorporate that in to my designs.

Magpie, can I host that blank poster for download on my site? http://albertabelegarth.googlepages.com/promotional
