Gotta love the unread posts button.

But anywho, couldn't you just make the pdf under the gnu/gpl or something?

Anyone know who the author of these is?

Edit:
You uploaded the Marshaling one eeach. Do you knot know where you got it?

How-to Weapon Check has a longer history dating back to 2006. But most of the contributers are just ip numbers...

Some one said if I am to just turn these in to PDF's, I have to tack a fair use license or something on the end? Where do I get it?

Ok, I am starting to look at an update to the NRSK, I am adding these 3 articles:

Safety, Playability, Realism.pdf
Marshalling HowTo.pdf
How to Weapon Check.pdf
Making a weapon's checking template.pdf

Does anyone else have another suggestions? Any maintenance that needs to be done?

**EDIT** I downloaded the start kit from http://www.filefront.com/13755632/New_R ... it_1.4.zip, linked to from http://albertabelegarth.googlepages.com ... starterkit. I didn't see the new additions you were talking about. Did you update the download for this link?

Have you removed Xipher's compilation from the kit, I cannot seem find it in there. If you removed it for some reason other that lack of permission for use, I would reconsider. It is very nice informational read, even if it is incomplete.

Also, under "Recruitment and Promotional Resources," in "Geting, Building, Mantaining, a Web site.pdf," 'Geting' should be 'Getting,' and 'Mantaining' should be 'Maintaining.' Just a quick grammatical error.

Will look over more thoroughly later. Thanks again for all you do Cib,

Google was holding the hammer over my head (getting rid of googlepages) so I moved the Resource store to http://resourcestore.wordpress.com/ I left the old site up until google destroys it. As a result the kit linked to on that site is v1.4 and the current kit is v1.5 found at the new site here: http://resourcestore.wordpress.com/2009 ... wrealmkit/

...I think that would explain it. I hope.

I nave did get permission to publish Xipher's Blelegarth Book on the Resource Store (I think he wanted to finish it), but it was never add as part of the kit.

Thanks! These are everywhere I am sure, and I can't see them. Spelling is not my strong point, so point them out people!

I like that you have included a list of games, a few of which I have never done even, but I dislike the format. Comparing it to how the Geddon has games set up, the Geddon wins in my opinion. For the new realms that would be the primary users of this kit, such vague instructions would be difficult to follow and enforce. It's late, so I just might not be grasping everything right, so I'll take another look in the morning. If I still feel the same, let me take a whack at how I feel it would be better designed, and I will send you a copy when I have done so. Not to knock what you have done. I cannot stress enough how grateful I am that someone put this great kit together. I just want to try and help make it as good as it can be.

No offense whatsoever my friend,

I had forgotten that we had added that. I was actually designed for out realm leaders up here, itis small so it fits in to out realm binders better and is quicker for reference on the field than a massive all encompassing Geddon list. http://resourcestore.wordpress.com/2009 ... ames-list/

If it is to hard to understand, do you think it should be excluded from the kit?

Format is something Me and Mog talked about a fair bit, that was the best way we could find, but we were not 100% happy with the format though I think, but got the job done at the time. Feed back and suggestions are appreciated!

If it is meant for quick reference, then I would definitely keep it in there, but also add a more thorough, less printer friendly version as well. This will give whomever downloads the kit a detailed list to study and a field version to reference if they should need it.

When I built the games list, printer friendly and fitting on minimal pages were my biggest criteria. This way you don't spend a long time reading while your group is waiting around for you to announce the next game.

Personally I find the Geddon list a bit daunting to someone who has never played Bel before. You have to read through every game to figure out if it is something your group has the equipment/members to pull off, and the games are sorted by name. If you don't know what the game is, the name tells you nothing most of the time.

I would be interested in seeing what someone else comes up with for formatting though.

Or if you can point out and specific parts that need new wording we can try to make the version I built better.

Should we just add the address of the geddon list to the reference sheet?

I would still advise adding the detailed list on Geddon to the kit, as whomever downloads the kit may not again have internet access when they need the info on the games, like from a laptop at a practice. This is entirely up to you, and I am in favor of adding the link to the quick reference sheet as well.

I'm especially grateful for the simple weapon tutorials, garb tutorials, and Book of War prepared for print out; the simple things like the practice checklist; and the press release suggestion. I would never have thought of that.

Thanks and kudos to the creator(s) (I can only assume it was a group effort),

May I be as bold as to suggest some items that could be a good inclusion?
This* style of poster seems like it would be highly effective. The strong similarities it has with other national recreational sports immediately catches your attention and gives it a more approachable feel.
Everything looks safe; active; and to be honest, normal. Posters that show people dressed in veteran level garb often look out of place, and somewhat odd to most people.
The tag-line "Think paintball, with swords" is actually almost exactly what I say to everyone.

I believe that for a beginner realm it is favorable to get people used to the idea of foam sword fighting prior to the introduction of garb.

Also, for the Construction Supply Guide. I know of a few large chain-stores that carry supplies in the US.

Lowe's- PVC pipe and pipe insulation**
Wal-Mart- You have it with an asterisk, marking it that only Canada has those for sure. I can verify that US branches carry duct tape and athletic tape (But not hockey tape specifically)
Wal-Mart- Many of the branches in the US, but not all, also carry blue camping foam pads.
Tractor Supply Company (TCS)- 3/8th inch round fiberglass rods.

Thanks again for that starter kit. It is going to be extremely useful.

*- Those posters have one major flaw, as far as I can tell they are not editable and they already have a Realm and website advertised.
**- Not sure if pipe insulation is very widely used. I like it for courtesy padding on spears.
