Fighting in College Station, TX

Postby megiddo » Mon Nov 02, 2009 12:28 pm

This may be rude, and I apologize for that, but ...

We have an old Amtgard park in College Station, TX (started ca 1990), which is very nearly dead.

We have a mix of RP & older fighters (about 3) left that show up.

I am actually non-committal whether the park is Amtgard, Belegarth or both. I am interested in finding out if there are any old Bel or Dag guys in the area, or transient Bel/Dag guys (college students), who are looking for a place they can swing stick on Sundays.

We love to fight, and I don't think you'll have any issues with sufficient force, but our local draw has always been RP. I've had some experience fighting Bakhdar, Peter the Quick, and Ed the Dread. If that's the right calibration, we're just fine here.

We'll play by either rules or both rules. We'll determine rules by consensus, swap weekends or times, whatever. We're very open to other games and other players (all of us have done/do VLARP, tabletop, HFS, SCA, Ren Faire, etc...we love it all). We used to run 60 to 100 people a week here (mostly locals with some college students), so to see 3 people show up is really disheartening.

Basically, if you can put up with Wizards and Ninjas, we can put with your heavy swords and shield bashing. I just want to have fun, and 3 people isn't cutting it.

Mordengaard (mordengaard.org ... really out of date)

I'm just here to let you know that this isn't rude at all, we encourage cross gaming. A better place for it might be "other medival recreations/sports" at the bottom of the page, but that's not a big deal.
