Wildlands West (NERO)

There's this AMAZING foam fighting LARP here in Kentucky called Wildlands West: Onyx Hollow. It's a NERO-based LARP that lasts over the course of a weekend, and draws a pretty good group to itself. I went to their last event, and I had the time of my life.. not to mention learned how to fight flourentine style with two axes.. <3

Anyone else ever been?

I tried to do NERO once here in illinois, mainly because i found out that theres a group that plays on the weekends about 12 mins from my house. The only thing is that i did not stick around very long, cause the only play at night, meaning they start at mid-night. Not for me.

That's what I really liked about this one. You were "In Character" the entire weekend, so the night owls could do stuff at night and the day people could do stuff during the day.

It is definitely worth checking out. The next event is May 18 - 20. It would be sweet to see some other Belegarth people there.

Fighting LARPer's is fun as hell. I'ts like fightin Jr high kids their first time on the feild, only you don't have to feel bad afterward.

Actually, a lot of the fighters are really good. There are a few people there who also participate in SCA, and a few who do Belegarth as well.
Now, I'm not going to say ALL of them are good, but a lot are.

i played the original wildlands back when tracy first ran it. It was an adrenaline soaked weekend of LOTS of roleplaying and LOTS of fighting.

I recommend it if its even remotely like the first one.

I don't know much about the original Wildlands campaigns - WLW is my first. From what I've heard though from the people who have, WLW has been their favorite thus far.

I do, but I pre-registered for the event before the final date of the event was planned, and my mom doesn't want me going to both, so obviously I picked the one that I spent money on, since I can't get that money back. ><;
