my brother and I came across the plexiglass covering on a tanning bed a few years ago.

With a tiny amount of work, it would have transformed into a clear plastic version of a roman shield. It was sweet.

We always wanted to get enough people together, buy those crappy, single pump paintball guns (way more intense than the itchy-trigger finger kind), have our blue club "riot bats", and our clear plastic riot shields, and then go have one hell of a time.

If anyone gets something like this together I WANT TO BE THE FIRST TO KNOW. It could in no way replace my foam fighting love.... but darn if it wouldn't be amazing for a single weekend out in woods.
Fun fact: Being a D*** doesn't make you throw a better wrap shot.

OH MAN! If this was for real I would just quit Belegarth all together.

IN THE FAR FUTURE OF 40,000 THERE IS ONLY PAINTBALL BOLTERS AND FOAM CHAINSWORDS!

So how would we have battles? By race? I, being one of the Emperor's finest, do not wish to do battle along side a witch.

edit: We could do this pretty easily for guardsman vs heretics.

necrons will kick every ones * and i just got done kicking the tau's * in a 1800 game i love warhammer 40k i am 14 and i have put so much cash into it that i would be a vary rich kid and i do not have a rich family i have to save or work for it and i have orc and space marines so all my necrons orcs and space marines will win the fight
"fall back! fall back!" shouted Janssen, a note of panic in his voice as he watched more Necrons rise from the sand, cutting off their escape.

Frankly, you're off your nut. Necrons are the most bland and beatable army in existence. Their weakness is obvious and unavoidable: phase-out. Your Tau friend must either have a learning disability or dice that hate him.

haha 40k **** talk....

anyway, i had this idea long ago except i called it a cyberpunk kinda thing. itll work either way...

have a sword fighting game with people in paintball gear. have the weapons be both paintball gun and foam sword. have a certain amount of points at the start where you can "buy" the various items and weapons. youd have to pay for ammo by the shot (even if it was cheap) and you could also get armor and shields. you could have some shields and armor be better at stopping paint, and some better at stopping sword. add paint grenades, javelins, whatever else you wanna make up for the scenario.

theres a lot more stuff to talk about for variations(different scenarios, different classes, experience points), but thats the core of it.

it would be fun... and id totally block bullets with my sword. :)

Their weakness is in assault too. Warriors suck in melee and in most of my games, the works just steam roll the necrons.

...Can I buy a little of whatever you're smoking? 'Cause it's doing nice things to your concept of reality.

If you bring the Nightbringer, you make my job easier; that's 360pts. out of the army that doesn't count for phaseout, since it doesn't have the Necron rule. And your "death line" is anything but that, since Necrons have virtually no decent AP weapons; an assault squad or two will ruin your day, not to mention a deepstriking Terminator squad. Try some of your "tactics" against real competition, then see how you do.
