You haven't actually told us what the sport involves. What is the goal? How do you play? Are there teams? How does equipment work? Don't just tell us that it is, tell us what it is.

There are Belegarth and Amtgard chapters around the world that play nearly identical games. I'm guessing this is just a local thing, but if it is, your experience is going to be limited by how many people you can actually play against; participation will probably cap at around 30-50 players which is only fun for so long.

When you are hit you are down. This means that you take a knee for however ling it takes you to count to 15.

This is absurd. I can count to fifteen without slurring in under two seconds.

For boffer engagement just stick to the no hands,feet, head, of crotch rules.

No crotch is a silly restriction and gives an unfair advantage to those of us (like me!) with enormous, dangling, wing-wongs. If folks are concerned about getting their privates dented in, they should wear protection.
