Angmarth wrote:Anyone from out West used to drive over 24 hours to get to Ragnarok. Back in those days we always held "Pre-Rag" in Numenor on the Saturday before it started. That gave the Western folks a chance to get a nights sleep before making the final trek to the event. Those guys were (are) truly "hard-core" when it came (comes) to travel and have my complete respect.
For what it's worth, before I got married I made it to a Chaos Wars. I drove for somewhere in the vicinity of 26 hours straight, with a whopping 30 minutes of sleep. I did it ONCE. Most of those guys who are "old-school" have done it a plethora of times. That in my opinion is totally badass.
