Amtgard stats for 08'

Linden just posted the end of year 2008 stats for Amtgard. After reading the keys to success thread on the Dag forum, I thought I'd cross post this as a courtesy to allow folks to see the general state of foam fighting. Is there comparable stats for Belegarth listed? I'd like to get an idea of just what we look like as a sub-culture.

People of Amtgard;

Another year has passed us by, bringing with it a score
of new groups and players. For the last five years the Admins of the
Amtwiki:The
Wikipedia for Amtgard have been actively collecting information on every
known amtgard chapter, and every other one we happen to stumble upon. This
information has enabled us to compare each years growth with the one before,
so we can finally present the trend of that growth to you. Bonus; it's an
excellent trend.

In 2005 26 chapters are known to have formed, in 2006 only
13, in 2007 37, and finally in 2008 Forty-eight new chapters are know to
have been created. 23% of chapters typically fail in their first year. This
year we lost seven of the chapters formed; that's only 14.3 percent.

The data is undeniable. We are growing, by leaps and bounds. There are 244 known
active chapters listed on the Amtwiki, 235 are listed on the ORK. The full

Total Number of Chapters in the O.R.K.: 235 (excluding defunct chapters)
Total Number of Players in the O.R.K.: 30885 (excluding defunct chapters)

I would like to get some sort of record keeping set up with Belegarth, but it's quite an undertaking. I should give that some more thought.

Actually, you could use the ORK (Online Record Keeper) to track your attendance if you felt like it. Rewth (the guy who runs the ORK) would probably jump at the chance to setup a portal for another game system to utilize it as well.

I've looked around ORK before and it's definitely cool. I think Belegarth's needs are sufficiently different that a new system might be in order as we wouldn't have nearly as much to track. Fortunately, that means coding it up would be easier too.

Hahaha ! That was a fun trip to Salt Wars, My guts ached from all the laughing !!

The ride home, not so much. One of the dudes from canon city was so stinky !! I bought a bottle of febreeze at a gas station, and periodically sprayed him down. It didn't help much, but it made me feel better !!
