Video conversion

Postby Loptr » Sun Jan 25, 2009 4:30 pm

I have vid recorded on my Panasonic VDR-D300
It is stuck in .VOB format. I ned to convert it to MPEG4 so I can post these (SKBC 07) vids.

The problem is when I convert it. The file is grainy as **** when anything moves. Therfore Boffers are terribel at even slow speed.

I need a solid non audio laggin, non pixelating converter that does'nt cost an arm or leg.

Your assistance will add more videos available for your viewing pleasure.

I use ffmpeg. I believe there's a Windows version.

Try Stoik? It's free... I've had good luck converting CCTV securty camera stuff at work using it without losing copious quality.

After spending a weekend listening to you and trying to get your face to not be pixilated. I find your words anything but restful...

Will give it a shot. Worse case I will go crying to Oznog.

just lost my original post..... >:(

I am making head way.
DIVX converter has given me .vob to .divx conversion with solid quality.
I have been abl to convert divx to mp4. (with solid quality) Need a good editor now....

Couple questions:
Do you know the prefered format for the end product to put onto DVD for viewing on tv of comp?
Do you know the best format to start with when converting to youtube/google vids?

I'm almost positive is .avi is the big one used for a lot of dvd's. As for youtube/etc, I'm pretty sure you can use mpeg, avi, mp4, etc.
