Meh. He was probably * because you didn't drop to all fours and fellate him once you realized who he is.

Also, you could use your extra cash to buy booze, then use said booze to get some really obnoxious people drunk as hell and turn them loose at the Roman camp.

Personally I have found that it is actually quite good for the sports to do this. It raises the awareness between games, it encourages cooperation, and gets more people fighting.
The way I see it, I get enough politics in my real life, so I might as well focus on what I enjoy, and that is fighting as many people as I can as often as possible.
just my observation: Being cool to others gets you treated well... Shocking I know...

Ragnarok isn't run by the DBGA. They're in charge of a few jobs (chair of RWC this year), but the real planning is taken care of by the business council, which is (this year) Zaron (from Indiana), Tannhäuser (Ohio), and Leonidas (Georgia). And chapters from across the country are helping to run other jobs and activities (weapons check, scenarios, medics, etc). Shoot, security is run by Thrush, who considers himself to be primarily a Darkon fighter.
The Aratari / DBGA are definitely a driving force behind Ragnarok, but they're one among many groups that make it happen and set the tone. I don't think you need to let any animosity you feel toward the Aratari keep you from having fun at Rag, if you don't want to.
(I say this as someone who has lots of friends in the Aratari, thinks Graymael is one cool guy, and rode to Ragnarok with King Oron of Pentwyvern)
