I wonder...

What's involved in setting up a group rate?

i'm not sure about that. i think he said its a few hours from the beach but i may have remembered incorrectly. and when we discussed it we were not sure what city it was planning on being held.

But everyone should look into going. I'm gunna do everything in my power to make it. Last years SKBC was pretty much the best event of the year for me. Octfest was a close second thou =)

King City is a couple hours from the beach. More details including the final dates should be coming ASAP.

SKBC is like no Belegarth event. There are no field battles during the day (there is open fighting at night). Instead, all day every day is classes. The whole goal of the event is to improve your skill as a fighter. Classes are signed up for in advance, on the SKBC website.

Also if date and location are not fully set yet, might I recommend Southern California (2 Bel realms, 1 Dag realm, several other smaller non-realm groups) and NOT on Jan 9th 2010. I am hosting another large regional event Saturday Jan 9th 2010. It is a single day event and it is the only Belegarth event we host. I am really hoping to top 120 attendees this year and I would CRY! if I have to compete with this for Western fighters.

Also, how long does this event last? One-day? ecT?

Unless I am still not on the right link, 2010 is not listed under ESam or SKBC on the Amtwiki.
Can you find it there or is there another link or word I should be looking up?

Thank you!

Final Dates and details will be availible by October. It will be early to mid-April. The list of instructors and classes will be availible early next year. The city and site are locked in. This event is run primarly by Amtgard. We used two of Belegarth's best figthers and teachers as instructors last year and we expect to use at least that many next year. Foam fighting is so similar that our people learn an awful lot from Bel's best. On that basis we are especially interested in getting more Bel instructors. As far as Bel students, all I can promise is that the organizing committee is committed to giving all students as great a fighting experience as possible. Some of the ditching (practice games) will be run under Bel rules and some classes will cover Belegarth. In addition to Peter and Bhakdar who are both very likely to be invited back we have a couple of long term SKBC instructors who also play Bel regularly. (including me).

Looks like one in LA, one north of Santa Maria, one north of San Diego, and a freehold in Santa Barbara, so far as southern Cali. Looks like there are a half dozen groups or so in and around San Francisco. (And agroup in Reno, a group in Vegas, and a group in Carson City.)
Hawaii: Manoa
Washington: Gondor

There are no staffs in Belegarth. Because of how they are constructed, they are really Pugil Sticks.

Unlike Belegarth, Amtgard parks can fall under larger groupings. The Pricipality of Westmarch for Amtgard includes all the Cali groups. The NoCal part of Westmarch is bigger than the SoCal part at this time but the site used for SKBC is chosen to be somewhat accessable to both.
