Since we don'y have to waist time with the ren fair this year, our group should all be there. I'm sure going to try to encourage them all to come, anyway. This is always a cool event with good people. And it's usually pretty big, so by default it's pretty fun.
Everybody should come to Yestare the weekend before(in Ogden) then go to Salt Wars.
It'll be the most fun you can have in Utah for 2 weekends in a row.

Some of us in Boise are going to try and come down again, although Yestare is more of a priority for us this year.

Cross training is a good thing. Many of my Bel brethren have made the ocassion and had a good time. Ditching is full of WINAH! My fighting company will be setting up ditch lights again for nighttime fighting.

There are minor differences in the fighting. Bring a good attitude and safe weapons.
Due to this being on Utah State Hospital property it is a DRY site, no booze.

Hit locations are the same, no minimum force, no need to swing hard ((generally) swing hard on me all day long I like it), there is no pierce rule, no headshots from projectiles, live leg does not need to be off ground, no sheild bash/kick/grapple. That about covers the key differences.

My wife and I are looking to buy a new car in the next couple of weeks, hopefully in time for yestare, but if not i think we might be able to make this one instead. Either way, would be cool to get my * handed to me by you again Loptr

I would love to have you and yours out sir. If not we can at least plan on Chaos I would do my best to not miss this event in your life.

I am betting all of Bel's stick jock types would love our concept of ditching. It is fast paced meele with rounds averaging typically 2-5 min. My fighting company hosts the lit ditch field each year.

As someone who's done this at Salt Wars with Loptr... I can attest, it's a blast. Just try not to break all his swords. :P

I remember that year, I built all these stupid loaners. Musta has 40 of them I got maybe 10 back. 30 "disappeared" I can confirm atleast 8 or so blew up, picking a sturdy golf club is a science and art. Since I have learned it it has been a long time since one of mine have snapped.

I heart my Bel peeps in the ditch line.

No green? Best I stay away then, lest I forget and try to break their rules.

You may be misunderstanding Loptr's words of no pierce rule. What he means is a hit is a hit (rather than pierce being treated differently than slash). If you stab a lot and hit a lot of Amtgarders, I consider that something they should learn to block.

What Michael said.

I am so accustomed to stabs that I didnt even think to mention it. BY all means stab, stab ,stab and stab again.

http://www.saltwar.com has all the info on it that you might need aside from the actual rules of Amtgard.

Salt War is an Amtgard Event, we ask that those who come from other games realize and abide by the Amtgard rules of play just as we abide by Bel rules when we come to Bel practice and Bel Events.

We have had a few instances of crossgaming friction in the past but it all comes down to education on the differences between the shot calibrations between the 2 groups.

If everyone just has the mentality of "When at Bel I'm a Belgarther, when at Amt I'm an Amtgarder" and play accordingly we all have a good time, and really it's all about the fun.

Prepay for Salt Wars (save $5) ends this Saturday the 15th. $25 prepay, $30 at the gate, Daytripper fee is $8/person.

We have use of the new large group camping area that they just put in so Cedric's big tent will have lots of room.

Fitz

Loptr remind me we need to make a crap ton of warrior, scout, archer and barbarian sashes for all our visiting Bel brethern.
