It's not looking like I'll be able to make it which sucks because it's probably not going to be in our neighborhood for a few years. Take lots of video.

Well, I believe SKBC is a strong enough event that it would go off without a hitch even if I skipped it myself. However, that would be stupid since its my favorite of the year. I will be there.

I'll see you at Chaos though.

Looks like I gotta work Friday morning - but being local that just means I'll miss session 1 (already removed myself from that class). See you guys there. This is going to be fun and edumakational.

And Forkbeard - sorry we're gonna' miss you fella. I'll make an effort to come to Chaos just to see your fuzzy face.

there was a LOT of great information shared.

Bhakkdar taught a great class on range and contact control.

It is my goal to have video up at some point. But real life has trumped my time til June. keep an eye on the fighter training forum for video posts.

I cant be unbiased about this event but it was the best one of the year for me and the best SKBC in a couple of years.

Yes, lots of fun. A little more variety in weapon types being taught might be helpful for us, but for what it is, it was a very, very useful event.

And sorry for the weather guys. Winter in NorCal is problematic. A week earlier and it would have been beautiful and sunny. You takes your chances. On the other hand, it was nice for me to see that area all green and purty - I've usually been there in August when everything is sere brown.

My review:

Good:
Hotel close to site was extremely convenient. I even made classes mostly on time.
Nice soft grass made taking legs painless.
Average level of fighting higher than I expected.
Lots of good feedback about Guy's florentine seminar; many people were excited about seeing a move advanced take on the style.
My classes went pretty smoothly despite the occasional inclement weather.
Hanging out with Rakhir, Glen, Anatole, Phocion, Leroy, Kyle, Peter, Bo and others.

Bad:
Phocion blowing out his ACL. Ironically, he insists this is a good thing.
The rain killing Friday ditching.
Smog in LA.
Cost of living in LA.

Ugly:
Traffic in LA is the worst I've ever seen outside of China. LA drivers are not just morons, they are incompetent morons.
Clalibus's event stink.

Good:

The ditching was excellent
Hanging out with my fellow rogues was fantastic
Getting to fight and hang out with the other instructors
Watching Axgar hit on Robin
Catching brunch with brennon, glen, bo, and dalos in the airport
Tiger balm hotboxing
My classes went really well, very pleased with how they panned out

Bad:

raining on friday, oh well
teaching in the rain on friday, my poor shivering students

Ugly:

Clalibus's feet, words can't describe.
Phocion's knee
