As winter settles on our homes in the frozen north, we bask in the warmth provided by the sandy lands to the south while war wages on in the lands of the dawn of civilization. Take up your arms, not for war, but sport, among our kith and kin and celebrate these “Holidays in the Holy Lands”.

Spend your morning warming up in scenarios inspired by the 1st & 2nd Crusades, then face both your friends and enemies in a breadth of tourneys to determine our new Yule King or Queen. Tourneys include:

- Sword & Board
- Single Blue
- Red Weapon
- 2 man 1 dagger
- Mongolian Wrestling
- Peasant & Blue
- Random Draw

The top three fighters in each tourney receive points and extra points will be awarded to the fighter considered to display the “Spirit of Yule” throughout the event. The fighter with the most points at the end of the tourneys will be crowned Yule King at our Feast.

Our “Holidays in the Holy Lands” will bring together flavors from the Mid-East and Euro-West as guests will enjoy dishes inspired by the 1st and 2nd Crusades throughout 3 removes. Menu will be posted closer to the event.

There is a seating cap of 48 on our feast, so please pre-reg to guarantee your spot!

Towards the end of our feast, we enjoy a High Court of music, stories, awards, and Mongolian gift giving. Our rules for the gift-giving are:

1). Gift must be wrapped or disguised in someway and be unmarked
2). Gift should be about $20; please no alcohol, this is a dry site.
3). Gift should be a Medieval-themed item

Fighting is outdoor. Food, facilities, and gifts are indoor.

C'mon Graavish, it's just a little snow!

In light of snowfall, having left all my garb in CT, and sheer laziness, I will not be at this event.

Just a reminder that cold weather is NO EXCUSE for crappy garb. We take pride in making our event look good, that includes the people attending.

Dagorhir garb rules will be strictly enforced. Be sure to hide your mundane cold weather gear well under your garb. A hoodie and a broom skirt will not pass at this event.

I'd love to be there but for a set of prior arrangements (including dinner with my grandparents). Have fun beating one another out in the cold.

I did not, at the time, understand the severity of the cold whose face I was laughing in.

The Empire of the Wolf wants to extend a huge THANK YOU to all who attended Yule this weekend.

Despite the bitter cold, we had a wonderful turnout, nearly doubling our numbers from last year! Fighting was great, tourneys were entertaining, food was aplenty, and gift-giving was hilarious!

Congrats to Sir Rune of Mittlemarch, for not only winning 5 of the 7 tournies, but also being crowned our Yule King! Still not sure how he is going to wear all those belt flags ;)

Thank you all so much again and we hope to see everyone next year for Yule!
