Byzantium Opener '11 March 5

Its been a boring winter. And some of us have cabin fever. So now its time to spread all that sickness to you guys.

$5 at troll, $4 with filled wavier. ID needed for Troll. Notarized waivers required for anyone under 18. EVERYONE MUST WAIVER!!!!
Troll and Weapons Check open at 10am with pick ups starting at 11.
We'll go until people stop swinging foam.
Field Battles this year will be ran by Varangian Guard.
Weapons Check will be ran by the Squires of Byzantium. We Pass Belegarth Weapons. Chicken will be assisting us. No mix-matching rule sets thou.

Everyone is more than welcome to stay and check out Byzantium's regular practice on Sunday (Why, thats the next day!) Noon-ish till tired. People are generally cool to offer up crash space, just get ahold of us.

Thank you all who showed up and fought through the rain and the cold. It was are biggest yet (I only can imagine how many we lost due to weather) and we hope to get even bigger next time, especially cause we're trying to set the bar for ourselves and make it a camp out. Whoot.

So my friends who attended this, I need some honest comments, complaints, and concerns. What did you like? What didn't you like? In what areas would you critic for improvement? If you think that your comments would be better said in private, please shoot me a PM about it.

Great fighting, great heralding.

I especially liked the 3 team battle with the neutral team in the middle.
Antal's bugle was great for knowing when lay on was called.
The 3 team battle with the 3 bridges was good too. All the flag battles were best.

My only comment was it was cold and wet, but not much you can do about that. Perhaps a spot with more grass? I figure its just getting out of winter and all the grass is dead anyway, so that's limited.

I'd say do the exact same for next year and change the weather.

The Good:

1)The people. They were all nice and friendly, no problems on the field.
2)The Heralds: Polite, friendly(even though they kept switching me). The were upon changes needed for the games. They handled business well. Also quite a few.
3)The Games:Fun to do even if the mean heralds kept banning me from breaking the games through superior tactics/lawyering.

The Bad:
1) The Heralds: Homeslice with the bear/kola/bunny hat was impossible to take seriously. Also they need to learn to project from their diaphragm. Really only critique of them.
2)Shield bashing near a fence. Don't know whose smart idea that was but they should be beaten repeatedly.

The Ugly:
1) The weather.
