Most of the glaives I have seen in Dun Abhon look like big boat oars: a fat double edged sword blade with a round tip covering about a third of the overall length, a third covered in incidental padding and handle on the bottom third.
Recently, I saw an Amygard glaive that was tubular instead of oar-shaped on the striking surface. Like a really long speed-stick-mace.
Are there any advantages or disadvantages of this design?

I fought with one before, I didn't notice a big difference. more tip heavy, don't have to worry about flat.

Very tip heavy. the mind set you must have with one of these is that it is a club on a long pole. It is too slow to be a good spear and slightly to tip heavy to start a good "shield" swing quickly.
Or you carry one for the fear factor. many will look at such a beast and not want to rush it solo, giving you the upper hand of attacking first instead of defending/counter rushing. Then there is the difficult glaive wraps that such design is perfect for.
