read the old castle sca and the beletrix sca books and postings. they are filled with how to generate power effectively and quickly.
the basic of the 2 readings is, use largest muscle groups for power and small muscle groups to aim.
so when you swing, take a step, rotate hips 10 degrees, not much more or openings start happening. the rotate the shoulders an additional 10 degrees. now the arm starts going forward, use this to create a whip action with the weapon. the forearm does the last bit of aiming at the last 25% of movement. all this happens really fast. start by doing slow work to get everything going in the right direction. then once the timing and muscle memory have taken effect, do some 3/4 speed drills, and finally full speed.
i don't know your size or fitness level, but you should see a major increase in power, with no loss in speed. also accuracy problems should go away as well, especially if you are very precise in your training. do not accept a practice swing that doesn't touch the exact spot you wish to hit, i use tape for this, works great.
