If your fighting has been limited to you and your friends, then there's a 99.999% chance that your fighting is nowhere near as good as you think it is. When you get to Dunharrow, talk to Moxk and Sir Morbian; they'll have tons of advice for you.

Slagar wrote:Oh. Yeah, actually, suspending a punch about 10-14inches away from your body, versus using a punch that's basically glued to my shoulder, offers increased protection. Holding it at arm's length is stupid, for sure, but the angles of protection a slight suspension like that gives you are pretty sweet. To test this, have someone lay a sword on the top of your shoulder with the shield flush against your body, and then push the shield straight towards them. You'll notice that at some point the shield pushes their sword off of you, without ever moving up or down. The ability to achieve this angle of protection with a comparatively smaller shield is one of the only advantages I know of to punch shields, really.

Anyhow, small punches make good darkksiders and you can body feint like a mother ****. Holding it close just makes it a worse medium shield, hold it away from your bod and let person make mistakes throwing shots you know are coming.
