Scenario Lists (and stuff)

Postby Pig » Mon Oct 24, 2011 10:25 pm

So lately I've been in charge of the scenarios done on the field. I just got elected so it's pretty cool, but I'm always trying to make up/find games that seem to help people get better in a specific area (Different weapons, unfair conditions, ect.) AND be fun at the same time.

I like to keep things interesting, at least. Two to Three 'variant' fights during each practice.

I'm also aware there's like.. three.. scenario lists floating around the internet, but they seem to have a bunch of the same stuff.. so whatever.

Anyways, practice usually takes 5-6 hours. What do you guys do to keep things interesting on the field and at the same time better your fighters?

Also, provide a specific game(s) if you can. I'm tryin' to make a list of stuff.

THANKS..

To start practice off I like to throw throw out Scapegoat with a fairly skilled fighter starting off, and then move into games like Hero and Four Horsemen. Those kinds of stacked odds really help with teaching teamwork, especially when the foes are a great deal stronger. This works for my realm anyway, but I have mostly younger guys who want to run off and play hero trying to do everything alone. This makes them work together better.

When i was in Shannara (laugh track here) we did play something called goblin evolution when we had enough people, simply because it taught you to fight with a weird and diverse set of rules every battle, and occasionally make it one-sided as well. We always had to wait until we had a fair number of people, though.

I've got a thing for Ring the Bell or any kind of capture the flag/point control game.

Played the Elite Game for the first time as a warm up this weekend and really enjoyed it.

you assign an uncle goblin who tells all the other goblins the story of how goblins came to be and he tells a story relating to the rules of this battle (like single-blue one hit equals instant death) and calls for the battle to start. Afterwards and after every battle from then on uncle goblin tells a new story and has new rules

Battle with storytelling sounds cool.

I wait by the herald and kill everyone as they try to hand him the flag.
Eventually, they are all dead and I pick up the flag and hand it to him.

Anyone else? xD

Some of mine are..

Fetch, but when the person you turn it into is armed and attacks anyone who goes up to him. You have to kill him in order to give it to him.

Team Salad Bar: Instead of placing weapons in the center, you line it up in a big row (just far enough for people to start attacking the moment they get there, but not close enough where you get head injuries) line up people like 16 1/2 paces away and make them run for the weapons when lay on is called..

Chaos Ball except the Ball is wearing a poncho

Weapon Switch: Scatter weapons over the field, people walk onto the field with weapons as well. People fight until "SWITCH" Is called, where you have to drop your weapons and find a new one that is at least a little different than yours. Switch happens multiple times..

All or Nothing: Usually played with groups of 2-3. Simply, if one person on your team dies, your whole team dies.

Archer Tag: Usually played with groups of 2-3, 2 of those people are the archers' "guards". Archers are the only ones who can permanently kill someone. If you're not killed by an archer, you rez in 10 seconds, although archers can be killed by anyone permanently.

Also, the last one is a new one Exile thought up. I'm not sure about it, so I need opinions.

Kings & Queens: Basically, Eightball and Warlord mixed together. One person is an Eightball (has to be killed last or the killer's team loses) and one person is the Warlord (If killed, that whole team loses.) So basically you want to kill the warlord, but you have to avoid killing the eightball.

That's all I got..

Last winter I invented a scenario called "Frankenstien." Basically how it works is if you're limbed, and you take someone else's limb, you get a limb back. Killing an opponent by torso doesn't do anything besides kill them. Works best with single blue battles.

One that I've been too lazy to post on Geddon that we do fairly often here in Stygia is called Soul Link. Everyone partners up and spreads out, and when your partner dies they have to count to ten. If they finish the count and you're still alive, they regen fully. If you die before the count ends then you're both out for the round.

They can last a little long sometimes, but it's a fun way to work on your two man team skills.
