I am new to this. I have done some fighting before, but it was rough and I usually lost. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can approve?

hello, you will need to fight for a year and watch the fighting resources listed at the top of this forum. that will get you a base level of knowledge. until then, be in shape, lift wieghts and have fun.

To add to what Bo said, never hesitate to square up with better fighters. They often have a lot to teach, and most are more than willing to pass on a few tips and tricks.

Don't be afraid of anyone, don't get discouraged when you lose, do try anything you feel like, do go to as many practices, day battles, and events as you can.

If you fight someone and they smoke you, try to hunt them down later and get some sparring.

Also, Bo's last points are great. Be athletic and ready. Good cardio makes fighting a whole day a lot easier.

Single sword, off-hand twice as much as sword-hand. All day at least once a month. Preferably more. It will be frustrating at first but will see you dividends in return.
But I'm a sadist like that.
