That is some SWEET looking garb. He was actually wearing a customized tunic under that tabard rather than some t-shirt BS... (unlike some Derian's I know who think a t-shirt on TOP of their garb counts as... garb?) And no, all I found on the gloves when I ate that elf were some smears of drow blood and some doushe residue from some old gladiator pit where V'hil insisted people quit throwing them at the participants...

Anywho, did I tell you guys that the doctors actually found a sizable enough specimen of that elf in my stool sample this year that it re-morphized into a real full sized creature again? That elf regeneration thing... You should probably watch out for him. Last I heard he went down south to train with Ravenwolf Moonwold the Dark.

Too much text for this thread... I concur with Ralimar; we all still need to see Cedric with a pony tail.

Xipher's date's are all **** up. I started fighting in April of 2001, and practices other than friends in Xipher's backyard were just getting started as I recall.

Thantan, Gorlock, and Kerox 2001-2002. This would have to have been 2003, that's when Gorlock started fighting.

Sorry Derian, my bad on that one. I was thinking that was uber-new-younger-than-I-remembered-him-ever-being Derian, but of course you would not have been that new or young when McFatty(?) was fighting. BTW, I'm terrible with both names and dates.

Killian, we started backyard fighting in the summer of 1999 in Cedar Falls. Organized practices started getting rolling in the summer of 2000, and I attended my first event at Springwars 2001.

My dad came with me and we arrived at like 1 in the morning. Obviously we didn't know anyone, so we just plopped our tent down in the first likely spot, which happened to be Wildwood camp. (There was some very loud drama about some guy dumping his girlfriend at main fire and leaving her there sobbing.

) You guys were all very nice to me, considering my level of newb-ness. I have always appreciated the help you gave me showing me how to check weapons and showing how differently your were constructed. At the time there were no good online resources for that sort of thing and we had kinda been winging it. Obviously I had a good time though, cause I managed to convice 6 other people to join me for Oktoberfest 2001 (Mudfest I?).

Hey Killian! LOL yeah I was kinda girly... look at the locks I had! I think I've lost half my hair in 10 years LOL! Man I do miss the days when I was all manned up and Kegg considered me to be a liability at events. Those were some good bone crushing times.

Check out that flail. Look close, that"s an 8" handle with a 20" chain ending in a full size Nerf soccer ball. Circa 1984. The morning star was the most difficult weapon to master, but once you did, the field was yours.

Those pictures of Blixxx and I in Townie garb were from Beltaine 4 'The sinister secret of Wendland Hollow' We were playing roles of Townspeople for the event scenario, I was Aurthur Wendland (the mayor), and Blixxx was Cassius the Cheesemaker.

Nice pics from back in the beginning of NB. I think I was actually present during some of those pics but I'm not in any of them. I remember that event/practice in Summer '01 because it was when I finally made my first garb, and got a ticket the day before. Always makes it easy to remember the date because the state keeps the records online! I just remember Hellhammer (Brian) walking over everyone in his metal Curiass.

And since 2006 counts as old I can to contribute to this...
