Very nice, I like that you explain, show the shot from both sides, and then have a nice sparring section at the end to show practical application. An excellent vid for the "imtermediate beginner" level of fighter.

I think the move you do when you toss the sword up and get rid of the strap shield is GROSS. Stop doing ir, I had to change pants both times.

I mean-- you're in combat, right? If you get your arm cut off you'd better start using your other one * fast or you're going to be dead.

If Bhakdar wants to send me the original footage I would be happy to put it up. I would rather not have a list of links on this page as there's already a sticky in the Fighting Development forum with a very well maintained list (thanks, Giggles!). Also, I want to keep the videos hosted on the Belegarth site of higher quality than one would find on Google Video or YouTube.

I think it's just Youtube, but they have an HD button you can push to upgrade your video quality. Nifty stuff.

Sometime I would like to get original footage into your hands, Derian, but truth is my video cam is about 7 years old now and that's part of the film quality issue.

I'm getting the feeling that with all the recent Bel-Amt critique overlap and SKBC instruction this year, a video or videos with similar aims and made in higher quality and greater detail will come. Its a great goal for us to get a truly top notch vid of this style with full garb, good background, and a couple good instructors all together.

The video sucks. It's a great concept, but the quality is terrible, the editing is terrible, the lighting is terrible, and the format fails. Sparring at the end does nothing. Show 7 strikes, the basic and the advanced version of each, and don't go off on any tangents. Show the basic strikes, what they can turn in to, and then end it. Making us want another video.

you'd be amazed at how effective that can be while in retreat also. Zao does this constantly in which the shield actually blocks an incoming shot while in the air. By the time they realize it's just floating through the air, he takes a quick shot, and normally actually wins with single blue. It's very impressive.
