I'm not too sure about awesome (neither shield fires crossbow bolts, for instance), but here are mine~!
Image
My first shield- a heater type with a cross strap arrangement based off my old SCA heavy shield. "Parthenophagus" is French influenced Latin, translating to something like "Devourer of Maidens," which was the second half of the binomial name given to the Beast of Gévaudan, an unidentified wolf-like creature that killed around 100 people in Southern France in the 1760s, which kind of lends the cover its theme. I had long deliberated what I was going to have the wolf attack, from a peasant, to a musketeer, to an unarmed shrieking bar wench. I liked the last one, mostly because the image was the most arresting, and was in the vein of the old woodcuts of the beast that I loved so much. Unfortunately, my girlfriend at the time objected, and used her feminine wrath on me, which, at the time, I had no defense towards... So I changed it to a red- cloaked rougish female, in a sort of tongue in cheek Red Riding Hood jab.
Two years and several dozen trips through the washing machine after I first laid paint on this shield, I still have yet to finish the bottom. Ah well.

My second personal shield, the strap buckler I use today! I made this a little over a year ago, when I had fully embraced the challenge of using weighty reds against speed blades, and realized that my armor was useless against arrows and javelins. It's very lightweight, has a thin foregrip so I can grip a weapon with no difficulty, and is small enough to not interfere with red sword motions and to bat javs and arrows away with ease. The creature on the front is a * (I'm amazed that almost no one I've encountered in Belegarth knows that), a mythological creature born from a serpent and a *, and is deadly to look straight in the eye. I liked the ugliness (which is about the only thing I can draw well) and the old world majesty surrounding it.
I installed a button catch release on the rear strap, so that I could tie the buckler to my arm tightly, but still release it quickly if it was ever broken, with a quick strike of the pommel.

i could be wrong but that looks a whole lot more like a * which is the * offspring of a hen and basilisk. it was more powerful than the basilisk because the whole " the crow of a * kills the basilisk" thing didn't affect it what with being half chicken.

that being said really cool gear is that **** you use to kill a bunch of fools pretty weapons are for bad fighters

Thanks for the compliments guys I hope to pump out more gear here in the near future to show off.

Also as far as selling/commissions, I have been offered by a local entrepreneur to start a foam smithing, armoring and crafts company. I'm not exactly ready to take on such a large offer but more to come I hope. Maybe this fall once I get mine and comrades kits totally finished.

I will be sure to let the belehomies know all about it. Now lets see some more awesome shields!
