I need to get these bison brats out of my freezer... they might all be eaten by myself if I can't resist the urge! :-) Other half beat me with one of the sword blanks telling me to stop drooling...

Yes, no pork for Jews.

Also, no pork for Christians, but most ignore that bit.

Pork is right up there with like, golden calves & sex altars. Of course, so is shellfish, work on Sabbath, having yeast in the house during Passover, insects (except locusts), dead things, things that touch dead things, your brothers wife, slave or animal,...I could go on.

Ok, I hope all of you like veggies to go with your meat. It took 5 of us 3 hours to get through all of the chopping last night. Veggie packets will consist of:
Red Onion
Vidalia Onion
Zucchini
Yellow Squash
Cauliflower
Carrot
Green Bell Pepper
Yellow Bell Pepper
Orange Bell Pepper
Red Bell Pepper
Plus various seasonings

Ursyne, what cheese will we be bringing?

Ursyne, if you touch any of those bison brats before Saturday we'll be playing at least six rounds of "Is this a shiv?"

In Jewish culture, foods that are kosher are land animals with split hooves and who chew their cud (meaning regurgitating and chewing it again like cows), water animals have to have fins and scales, all fruits and vegetables, and eggs are fine. Birds....i don't know the rules very well but they can't prey on other animals like vultures. but pork dont chew their cud, so that makes it un-kosher. There is so much more to it like how they are killed and other shabbat rules turin didn't mention...but i'm not going to go into it.

But...i follow most of the kosher laws i listed above as well as the ones turin listed...i was just making a joke...but i'm sure there will be plenty of food to go around...im not worried.

But giraffes are kosher, as an Israeli rabbi recently determined.

yes but we can't eat them because....when you kill an animal to be kosher it needs to be killed in a way it suffers the least...there is a certain spot on the neck of land animals where they die almost instantly. The giraffe's neck is too long to figure that out.
