Highlander Tournament

Dueling in the manner of the Highlanders, participants will duel 1v1 throughout the grounds in order to claim one another's power. All participants must keep a Red weapon on their person at all times when not on the field, in the bath house or eating feast.

On signup, participants will be given a white strip of cloth that they must write their name on and keep affixed to the pommel of their Red weapon at all times. Fellow combatants may issue a challenge to them at any time, and the challengee must accept and the combat must begin within five minutes. The battle will be a best of three format. The victor will lay claim to the sash of the loser, removing them from the tournament.

The winner will be decided by the last man standing. Should multiple participants still be alive prior to feast on Saturday, a final set of battles will be had. To fully win, the victor must have claimed the sash of at least two other combatants excluding the one gained in the final battle.

RED CLASS WEAPONS ONLY, ARMOR ALLOWED, BEST OF THREE

Post or PM with any questions, comments, concerns.

Four Horsemen Tournament

With the skies darkening and the Armageddon drawing nearer, the Horsemen themselves have come to watch and choose their avatars on the mortal plane.

The tournament will be a four man, open weapon selection format. If an even number of teams are present, it will be bracketed. If odd, it will be a Round Robin format. The tournament will start after the end of field fighting on Saturday, and teams should register with Caleidah in person or with the signup sheet at troll.

ALL WEAPONS ALLOWED, ARMOR NOT ALLOWED, TEAMS OF FOUR.

Shield Bashery tourney, anyone?

Like jousting, but instead of horses and lances, you get a shield and a whole lot of man muscle. Run into each other until one of you falls down.

I think we've all wondered who the shield-bashinest person in Belegarth is. It sure as hell isn't me, but it would still be fun to watch!

Sound like fun?

Actually......yes. I wanna see Vokor and Fox do this. :D
But we should probably have Tails running this one too, that way when people get hurt a medic will already be nearby. :P

Well okay then. I don't really think it's a big issue, but there are plenty other tourney ideas.

Archery tourney? See who can hit the bullseye and judge by a points system, or something?

I'd also like to see the Highlander tourney but with single blues. Dueling tourney?

Could do that, but would add a lot of cats for me to herd. There is going to be a single blue tourney already. As for the archery tourney, I am going to talk to the person that has run them in the past and see if he would be willing to run it again.

(Proposed) Polearms Tournament-

With the impending apocalypse on the horizon, it is time for all warriors to grab gear and step up.

Bring your polearms-- spears, glaives, omniglaives, halberds, naginatas, etc

The tournament will be a one man format using the aforementioned weapons. Clear any questions with me, Porthos (this particular tournament's organizer). If an even number of teams are present, it will be bracketed. If odd, it will be a Round Robin format. Sign up at Troll, or find me at the event.

The tournament will start...well, whenever Caleidah determines it would be a good time to start.

Armor is allowed- double-green and red your way through the problem.

Porthos, will the pole tourney be 1v1 or Team v Team? If the latter, state team size in your listing. The wording was a little odd.

EDIT: Will there be a minimum length for the poles or any other restrictions on what can/cannot be used?

Teams of 3 actually sounds better. If there's a lack of interest in teams, then we'll bust it down to 2 v 2 or 1 v 1's.

As to the second edit, I think 6ft would be the optimum minimum length. I'll have discretion to adjust that on a case-by-case basis.

3 v 3 Rules-
Shields will be allowed. No archery. Side weapons will be permissable, but must be secondary in nature-there must be a hand kept on the polearm at all times unless grappling. Grappling is allowed.

Cal- I was toying with the idea of allowing one member of the team of three to carry a shield and blue weapon to get more people interested. Thoughts?

That's basically just a smart 3-man teams tournament at that point. Pole-only would be more interesting to me personally, if maybe a little less well-attended. I'd fight in a pole-only tourney. Just saying.

That's what I was thinking- I wanted to keep it distinguishable from a three v. three. I'll take a chance on this for being just a polearm only tournament, despite a chance for lack-of-attendance.

So, my call is no sword-and-boarders. You have to have a polearm. Previous rules apply, but there has to be one hand on the pole at all times (unless otherwise stated)*

*not a win condition to knock the polearm out of someones hands. You still have to kill them as per the rules.

This. It would be slightly-more-different, and we already have the Four Horsemen for the people that want to do things like "thinking tactically" and "not being totally silly."

Assassin's tourney rules are as follows. Also i will be there thursday morning to start the tourney due to my job being stupid...but signing up will be allowed at troll before i get there.

:Assassin's tourney:

OBJECTIVES:

Assassins- Your objective is to take out Marks, Guards and other Assassins. You will be assigned a Mark by the game leader and will only be given one Mark per hunt. You will not be told who the guards are nor will they be labeled. If you come across information on who another assassin is you may go after them at anytime. After each time you kill a Mark you need to return to the game leader and tell them of your kill. Keep in mind that you do not have to return to the game leader if you kill another assassin or a guard. If killed during an attack the assassin must return to the game leader and receive another target. Assassins are not allow to use a shield while attacking another player.

Marks- Your objective is to stay alive. You may kill assassins only in self defence. If the assassin hands you a poisen food or beverage then it will be considered a hostile act and you may take action (Unless within a stucture). Marks are only allowed 2 Guards. When killed return to Game leader and retrieve a new coin.

Guards- Your objective is to keep your assigned mark alive. You may only attack when your Mark is in iminant danger. If killed you are done until your Mark recieves a new coin. If the Mark stays ends up alive after being attacked while you are dead you must wait until the Mark dies to rejoin.

RULES:

ABSOLUTELY NO RANGED/MELEE WEAPONS AROUND A CAMPFIRE OR IN ANY STRUCTURE.

The only way to kill within a camp fire circle is with poisen or a slit throat.

No ranged weapons after dusk.

The only method of killing during feast or in troll is poison.

No (in game) killing on the field or on the side lines of the field.

As soon as you are in the tree line or on the road YOU ARE IN GAME!

No killing while a Mark, Guard or Assassin is within 10 ft of the game leader.

ALL EVENT RULES ARE IN HIGHER STANDING THAN THE GAME. IF YOU ARE IN VIOLATION OF THE EVENT RULES YOU WILL BE EJECTED FROM THE GAME.

HOW TO WIN:

EVERYONE WILL START WITH A SINGLE TOKEN!!!

Assassins- When you kill a mark they will present you with a token to show that you have killed them. When you kill an assassin they will give you ALL of their tokens as will you if you were to be killed by another assassin. The assassin with the most tokens at the end of the game is the winner. When you die you must return to the game leader to announce your death and will be given another token if you do not have any.

Marks- When you are killed, you will present a SINGLE token to the assassin. When you die you must return to the game leader to announce your death and you will be given another token if you do not have any.

Guards- Are defense only. There is no way to win the game but helping friends is fun.

WEAPONS:

Melee- Any blue/red/green weapon. No reds over 6 ft long (this is simply to restrict damage of personal property)

Ranged- Any yellow or white weapon. ONLY TO BE USED BETWEEN DAWN AND DUSK.
