Paksha and I are proud to announce and actual Monster Day to go with Monster feast! Lets get everyone out in their most monstery stuff on Tuesday of Chaos this year. Paksha and I are doing prizes that night at monster feast honoring best monster garb (two categories, one for monsters who are monsters all the time, and one for pinkies have a dress up day) as well as several other Monstery prize categories! Lets make this day fun for everybody and really monster out!

Acorn: Yes, anyone who is traditionally a non-monster can monster it up and win the pinky-monster prize.

Originally I was going to side with Galya, but we're going to make a third category for garb prize for "Non-traditional" monsters. Go ahead and rock a ghoul if you want to. My sister is going to do a Banshee. Undead have their roots in all sorts of medieval fantasy (Wow, D&D, Warhammer). Just make it look TURBO AWESOME!

I'm going to contest this because, well, every "legit" monster race has to start from somewhere. There have been gnolls since the dark ages of Belegarth but it's only recently that there's been any sort of codified lore, warpaint, and uniform and it's still a total work in progress.

There aren't a lot of Chaos Trolls around, but I wouldn't dismiss them as not being "legit". It's all in the eye of the beholder.

If somebody wants to be a svartálfar, or tengu, or whatever, I don't see why they should be discouraged.

I didn't say anything against Chaos Trolls. They're just another type of Troll, that's totally fine.

And I guess I'm just a bit of a snob/purist/what-have-you when it comes to monster races. Maybe it's because I've seen too many people try to pull off some other weird race that I've never heard of and it looks retarded. I like having established, widely accepted monster lore, attributes, etc. because that way you know what to expect, and what guidelines to follow. You get better quality monsterdom that way, IMO.

And it's not that some people can't pull off other sweet stuff. If you can make it look good, I'm all for it. I just don't like pinkies, or worse, potential new monsters, thinking less of us as a whole because of some idiot with crappy garb and half-ass face paint. Or horns, fangs, whatever. If you're gonna do it, just do it well. Take some * pride in what you are. That's my view of it.

honestly i probably will dress as a Bel monster for monster day and save my valkyrie goul thing for when the Valkyries take the field together. i was just trying to make sure we were all on the same page.

I'm glad it was clarified that any monster (Bel legit or not) is acceptable. My persona is a Silver Dragon. i would be really mad if i was tossed out because i'm not a troll or an orc. i've got a kickass costume i've been waiting to show off at chaos. y'all better be prepared!

I apologize, I've been kind of caught up in other things.

My opinion is that any race can be qualified if you can justify it's monstery-ness. This day is about having fun. If we want to get all serious, then we are forgetting why we're monsters and why we're playing this sport.

I'm working on awards and the full plethora of monster awards. It's going to have to go a little bit quick because of the concert going on.

So, you're out of place. This is the same beef I've had since you started your unit. I appreciate that you're trying to medieval-ize your imitation Star Wars fandom, but it's completely out of place in Belegarth.
