Catalyst Deca-Deathalon

Postby Acorn » Wed Jul 20, 2011 10:36 am

So this was brought up in the Babylon Invasion thread but I'm putting it here too. Catalyst will be running a Deca-Deathalon, basically a fast paced team tourney, at CW this year during a lull in field fighting.I will post on the main schedule at CW when it is after I talk more with Elwrath. Basically this thread is just a heads up about this possibility. Originally Catalyst was thinking of the Knights of the Highlands as the opposing team, but if other teams are interested we could expand. Thoughts?

Original post in the Babylon Thread:

Deep in the Tower of Babel, something stirs.

Rumors have spread of a land resisting the Light and Glory of the Empire. A peoples claiming superiority over the Warriors of Emperor Dyse. Presuming too much.

Deep in the Tower of Babel, something stirs.

These words have reached his ears, and he has called them, for the Emperor, for Babylon. The Shaman lifts his hand and they assemble.

Deep in the Tower of Babel, something stirs...

HEATHENS and FOOLS! Think you equal to the might of the Greatest Civilization ever to grace this, or ANY, earth!? Think you that your Knights are superior to ours? That your colors and creed in competition? Think you worthy of even our Mercy, let alone our respect!? Then Stand Forth and be Proven Wrong. For the Tower hast opened, the Shaman emerged, and in the Emperors name he raised his hand and called a Force to FEAR.

The Shaman calls forth Catalyst!!! Devout Agents of Change, Sparks to the fire, Frosts of the Cold, Catalyst shall sweep your leaders to their knees and show them their place. We challenge your petty order to the ring of all rings, the test and all tests, the arena of ALL arenas.... the place where we prove that wizened windbags and drunken dragon-chasers are Nothing but smarmy slow moving sludge in comparison to the Babylon Empires’ rising Warrior-Scholars of Change. A place and test like no other... the DECA-DEATHALON.

Deep in the Tower of Babel something stirs, and Bakdar lifts his hand in rage to those who would oppose him. The Shaman calls challenge, WILL YOU ANSWER?

none rp terms:

Catalyst challenges the Knight of the Highlands to a Deca-Deathalon at Chaos Wars as part of the Babylon Empires invasion of the Highlands.

What it is:

The Deca-Deathalon is a fast paced, three-stage team competition involving singles, pairs, and team combat. It is designed to test fighting ability by scoring 100 total kills on the enemy team while preserving your own lives.

Each team includes a minimum of 5 members and a maximum of 10, including one recorder who will tally the enemy teams death count. The recorder position can be rotated while transitioning between events of the competition.

Each event uses a knockout line style format that involves competing in singles, doubles, and 4-person teams in succession. A knockout line means that whenever a competitor dies, they go to the end of their teams’ line and their death is tallied, regardless of simo. New challengers fill in the field positions for the next battle from the front of each line. When a team tallies 100 deaths, they have lost! The singles event tallies until a team has endured 30 deaths, doubles tally to the next 40 deaths total on a team, then 4-person team fights tally to 30 deaths.

Sum Up:

The Role play part isn't really the focus as we've decided to do the War in three field battles on Wednesday, but the rest still stands.

So, you guys game?
