Welcome to Silver Bell Ranch…………
We are looking forward to a great event and are happy that you are here to share our place with us. For the benefit of everyone please observe the following:
Driving
• Please drive slowly on the property particularly when traveling on the gravel driveways. Horses, people, and pets have the right of way. As a rule, drive no faster than 5 miles per hour. If you are kicking up dust you are driving too fast.
• Please use the center driveway (in front of the house) as you come and go.
• Our neighbors (to the north of the fighting field) have been generous enough to allow parking on their pasture. Please respect their property and help keep it clean.
• When parking your car, please roll up all of the windows. We may need to activate the sprinklers mid-week to keep the pasture grasses alive.
Fires / Wood
• We have secured a permit for open burning which covers one large (main) fire and several smaller warming / cooking fires.
• Feel free to create a fire ring using rocks from the creek or the sprinkler gun enclosures. Rings should be no larger than 3 to 4 feet in diameter and all fuels should fit within the ring.
• All dead wood is for your use. There are several piles of kindling that can be moved to your camp area and broken up for burning. Logs can be split into manageable sizes. If you need to have longer pieces cut up, put them along the road and they’ll be cut for you.
• Burn as much as you’d like. Ideally, we’d like to have all the wood burned by the end of the event.
• Please share all wood. Setting up camp near a large woodpile doesn’t make it yours.
• Please do not burn trash, lumber, fence posts or rails, or green wood.
• Do not leave any active fires unattended.
• When you break camp, please return the rocks to where you found them. Simply scattering the rocks does not help as we inevitably find them with the mower when preparing for next year. Leave the ash pile and we will dispose of it after the event. (We’d like to be sure it’s cooled and that we’re getting rid of the trash in the ash)
• Feel free to cut and use any willow trees (dead or alive) to make furniture, fences, barriers or decoration.
Trash
• Please dispose of all trash properly and help keep all areas clean by picking up stray trash (even if it’s not yours).
• Recycle bins have been provided for your use.
• Hiding trash or throwing it in the tall grass does not constitute disposal.
Horses and Pets
• This is a horse boarding facility. Please respect the rights of our boarders (as they help pay the bills).
• All horses are privately owned. Please do not feed them anything. They are not available for riding.
• There are 2 dogs (Welsh Corgis) that live here on the ranch. Their names are Maria and Tres (pronounced ‘Trace’). They are both on strict diets – please do not feed them anything no matter how much they beg.
Alcohol
• You must be at least 21 years of age to drink alcohol at this event.
• If you are 21 (or older) and drink here, please stay here – do not drink and drive.
• Nothing will end this event faster than the violation of either of these two rules.
Visitors
• We have not invited anyone to take part in your event. No visitor should use our names as an excuse to be here. Feel free to contact the organizers to remove any unwanted guests.
• Please notify Jeff (at the number below) if the Police are called for any reason.
We hope you enjoy your time here. You may contact Jeff (208) 720-6685 or Melanie (208) 720-6768 if you have any questions or concerns.
