Weapon checking

Synopsis: Outlines the materials needed and the processes for checking the different types of weapons during weapons check
Prereq: None
Equipment: None
Intro to basic offense
M, time: morning
Synopsis: Discusses the basic grips, shot types, body mechanics, and developing combinations
Prereq: None
Equipment: Single sword
Intro to basic defense
M, time: afternoon
Synopsis: How to utilize the sword and shield for blocking
Prereq: Previous experience or intro to basic offense class
Equipment: Sword and shield
Intro to basic footwork
Tu, time: morning
Synopsis: Discusses the theory of footwork, stances, body mechanics, and simple drills for improving footwork
Prereq: Previous experience or intro to basic offense/defense classes
Equipment: Sword and shield
Intro to offensive shieldwork
Tu, time: afternoon
Synopsis: Goes over some of the basic offensive shield techniques as well as counters to them
Prereq: Previous experience or intro to basic offense/defense/footwork classes
Equipment: Sword and shield
The fundamentals of archery
W, time: morning
Synopsis: An introduction to archery with a focus on safety, equipment, proper form, and improving accuracy
Prereq: None
Equipment: Bow and at least two arrows
Introduction to small-unit tactics
W, time: afternoon
Prereq: None
Synopsis: Theory, types, and drills as well as discussing how to deal with multiple opponents
Equipment: Preferred weapon style, i.e., sword+board, florentine, etc.
Introduction to combat archery
Th, time: morning
Synopsis: Focus on being an archer in the melee, different drills and techniques for improving your combat archery skill
Prereq: Previous experience or fundamentals of archery class
Equipment: Bow and at least two arrows
Intermediate tactics
Th, time: afternoon
Synopsis: Building on the previous class, focuses on larger-scale tactics, control measures, and planning
Prereq: Previous experience or intro to small-unit tactics class
Equipment: Preferred weapon style
Battle analysis
F, time TBD but during larger fights
Synopsis: The capstone tactics class. The focus will be on observing battles, analyzing, and determining key decision points during the battle.
Prereq: Previous experience or intro to small-unit tactics/intermediate tactics classes
Equipment: None.
Note: This will be presented as a seminar/open discussion format without any practical exercises
