Missile weapons at Chaos Wars XVI

Postby Raziel » Sun Jun 09, 2013 8:07 pm

As head missile weapon checker for Chaos Wars I wanted to let everyone that there will be no major changes from the way they were checked last year.

There is however one rule in the Book of War that I strictly adhere to.
1.4.8.4. A draw stop is required to prevent an arrow from being drawn more than 28 inches.

This means that your draw stop needs to be big enough to PREVENT the arrow from being drawn past 28” on any bow…not just yours. If you have any doubts that your draw stop is big enough it would probably be a good idea to enlarge it. This is an extremely easy fix for anyone and is a key safety concern.

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up before Chaos Wars so no one is caught off guard. It would be very beneficial to everyone if you were to pass this message along to friends who have arrows they intend on using at Chaos Wars. Let’s have fun while staying safe.

Per discussions on Facebook:

Draw stop is measured from the base of the draw stop to the inside of the nock where the string sits.

Due to the length of time it takes to check arrows the time restrictions for arrow drop-off with be 9:00 - 9:30 am. Wake up early boys and girls, because 9:31 am is too late to drop-off arrows.
