Would people be interested in my facilitating a class on how to teach others more effectively?
It would focus on teaching principles, how to structure content (the teaching) with process (how it's learned & integrated). It would train people in how to structure a lesson, get active participation, and debrief effectively with your audience, making sure they have something to take away.

I won't be at Chaos (I live a bit too far away) but if you do this, please share your notes or a video or something if you can. I think this kind of information is extremely important to Belegarth; in many areas veterans teach how to fight, but not how to teach in an effective manner.

I'm not being snarky here, but I believe there is already someone teaching a class on how to teach a class.

That would be me. And I'd love your help Bhakdar and offer mine if you run your own class. It's not MY panel and the more teachers of teachers we have the better the panel will be.

I'm glad I'm now aware this idea is being looked at. Orokusan-What's 'The panel'? I'm foremost in support of the concept of trainers teaching trainers being taken into action and would either help or support an endeavor already going that direction.
Knowing myself in a leadership role, I can be pretty domineering of a class environment. I have experience that's worked for me and would want to contribute that while avoiding stepping on toes.
Also Shrike-- Great input on asking for a published outline on this and shooting video. I also totally support this.

My idea is not so much what to teach but how to teach. Outline is forthcoming and I can get more info to those interested. I want people actively thinking about teaching, what it requires and how to help their students not only understand what they are trying to convey, but duplicate it and begin self teaching. The panel is Monday at 1:30 "How to Teach Classes at an Event". Although the title is a bit too narrow for the topic I plan, it's an excellent start.

I can help structure lessons and offer advice on this topic. I can also do so in a serious manner if needed.

Ok. I won't be there for Monday. I would encourage you to take video of your class-- it'd be great to have more resources of this topic on the net. I probably will not host something at the event, and instead lead this training and film it at a local regional event this year.

I will indeed get video and there are several slots in both the panel and the classes open. Looking forward to others teaching as well!

Bhakdar if you want to teach a class on combat instruction, that would be totally cool. I have a lot of open times available. I don't see a problem with doing two classes like this if there is appropriate time between the two.

Ok, I'm arriving Wed AM. I teach during lunch break Friday.
When would be a good time for me to host such a class? Where do I need to look for comprehensive schedule?
Or Shino- just tell me where you think it'd fit well.
