So; how much would you charge to make someone a suit of chainmail? They're buying the rings pre-cut, so all I'll need to do it put it together for them.

Just trying to get an idea since the sets for making chain are on Ebay for $80ish and full shirts go for 120-140...

there's no way in hell you'd be able to effectively beat the industrial rate of $140. if you charge anything for your time -even minimum wage- it would put you in the $400-500 range for a simple vest.

that said, if you are doing it more to entertain yourself, and/or do your friend a favor, $200 doesn't sound too bad.

i hate it when people say that, cuase just like buying a real sword yes its cheaper to make it in a factory, but you get better quality work and most likely better quality material if you make it yourself or have someone hand make it for you

Thanks Karyx for a dollar amount. That helps me know what my time is worth. Zuloo, you're correct because the chain someone wants me to make them is copper/bronze, which isn't really easy to come by in industrial suits.
