Herald Tabards

They're ridiculously simple to make, yet not a lot of folks seem to have them.

If pre-made and available at an event, would anyone buy a plain yellow tabard, pre-shrunk 100% lightweight cotton (standard walmart cloth), 3 feet long per side, ~22.5" wide (whatever half the bolt width is), with a plain 1" black machine-stitched trim around the edges and v-neck hole?

Would $15 be a reasonable price? If not, what would you pay?

What other materials would be preferable if you were to buy a tabard? I'd offer other colors, but tabards are pretty personal as a part of garb and usually people want certain patterns, shades, applique, etc.

Thanks for your responses.

Edhellen tends to have single-color tabards for sale, and I know that at one point the going rate was $10. I bought three, over the years. I'd say drop the price to $10, and have a stack handy at events, and you'd move a few.

I'd pay $15. I'd for sure pay $10.
I'd also like it to be linen, but that's just me.

If you want a linen herald tabard, man, this yellow stuff is just $5/yard after the 30% off coupon. I bet you could get a decent herald tabard out of 1 yard. $15 or $12 would totally be a reasonable price for something like that.

Good luck with your tabard venture, man! We always need more herald tabards.

Thank you all, and I especially appreciate the linen link.

I've never been able to find linen cheap locally, and I don't enjoy ordering things online. This might change my mind.

Thank you again.
