Has anyone come up with a means to calculate vendor fees? Based on every x amount of people -or- equipment sold? Or is there an acceptable flat rate?

I have been told vendors don't like % based fees. I do flat fee for my events based on what my regional parks charge me to host vendors. I don't mark it up much because we are starting out and I want it to grow. I have even subsidized them in the past. EXAMPLE: If my park charges me $25 per day and admission is $25 per person (cost) then I would charge vendors $100 with admission for 2 for a 3 day event ($25 subsidy).

Soo and I recently went to a con as a vendor...the con was 3 1/2 days and we paid $80 for our table and that came with two entries in to the con as well. Most places will allow for (usually) two people's entry fees to be covered when paying for a vendor spot as well because it usually takes more than one lone person to run a booth all day. I am also paying $50 for a 3 day ren fair and that covers my booth and two entries.

Each place is going to be a little different but there are a few ideas from actual experiences I have had. Hope that helps!
