Blocking with a weapon

I am reading the rules and need clarification.
this quote:
3.7.3. Blocking a Weapon strike by laying a Weapon against a Target Area and/or Shield is illegal.

I read this as putting my sword against my leg to cheese a legit shot.

So here is my question, I punch block and block shots with my sword all the time, I assume that is fine?

Punch blocking is okay, but painful, as long as you have your hand on a weapon. (It's ok without a weapon, too, but you'd lose your arm.)

As long as you don't lay the weapon against your skin (anvilling), blocking with weapons is perfectly fine and done all the time.
